Laser Cutting Sheet Metal

Ordering high quality sheet metal laser cut parts is greatly simplified using the Komacut platform. Just upload your 3D drawing to get real-time laser cutting quotes and design for manufacturability feedback, then submit the order to have your laser cut parts delivered anywhere via your preferred forwarder or logistics provider. Komacut provides laser cut steel, aluminum and stainless-steel parts with a variety of surface finishes and value-added processes. Read more about the platform on the How It Works page.

Laser cutting utilizes a high-powered fiber or CO₂ laser (generally in the 5kw to 8kw range) to pierce and cut metal or other materials rapidly. The laser cutting machine is directed by a computer utilizing input 2D drawings to determine the required dimensions and shapes. Please refer to our article explaining common applications for laser cutting and providing further details about laser cut machine types and processes, their advantages, and disadvantages: An Engineer's Guide to Laser Cutting.

Laser cutting offers a number of advantages over other cutting technologies such as mechanical die punching, saw cutting, plasma cutting and waterjet. Some of the key benefits include:

- No need for tooling or dies – just program and produce
- Narrower kerf widths because of highly focused beam
- Less material distortion and a reduction in the heat affected zone as the machine is controlled using complex software to optimize part path, machine speed and sheet metal utilization
- Higher cutting precision and high levels of repeatability
- Less material contamination due to absence of cutting edge
- Little secondary finishing required as cuts and edges are of high quality
- Less material wastage thanks to superior sheet utilization

At Komacut we always use cutting edge laser technologies to deliver the best service to our customers.

Our LVD Fiber Laser Cutting 8kW machine with auto loading material tower among our other high-end machines makes the sheet metal laser cutting and laser cutting parts in general, more accurate and precise. Whether it’s stainless-steel laser cutting, laser cutting aluminum, or metal part fabrication as a whole, we deliver quality parts on time.
